Watching

There's a light haze today.

A good day for just watching to see
what comes along.

How Fast Can You Run?

Since the bridge is closed,
this must apply to pedestrians.

Schuster Parkway

Not being a Tacoma native,
I never knew why the road along the edge of
Puget Sound's Commencement Bay
was called
Schuster Parkway.

Now I know.

Sun Breaks

Sun breaks:
those little moments
when the sun peeks through the clouds.

Always a pleasure.

Yes We Can-Can

A special treat during the history presentation
at Tacoma Art Museum yesterday
was a can-can dancer,

one of the original can-can girls from
Tacoma's Gay Nineties restaurant.

The guest was Miss Tacoma in the 1950s.

She's still quite a fetching figure

and more than willing to engage the audience.

Tacoma History at the Tacoma Art Museum

To accompany the "Mighty Tacoma" exhibition

author Darlyne Reiter lectured on the history of
the South Tacoma Area, including the Nalley Company
(ever had Nalley's chili?) and Roman Meal.

Her presentation included historic photographs.
