At the bottom of a sweeping
spiral staircase,


there's a pool and fountain.

Older Sister

Annie Wright School,
founded in 1884,
is the big sister to Tacoma's
Charles Wright Academy.

Annie Wright was founded as a school for young ladies.
It's now coed for younger students,
but the high school still is populated only by young women.

Charles Wright, which opened in the 1950's,
began as a school for boys
(the brothers of those Annie Wright girls),
but now Charles Wright is coed
from preschool through high school.

Sweet Days of Summer

Now that we've entered the long, gray rainy season

those long, sweet sunny evenings of summer
are just an extravagant memory.

Gone, but not forgotten.
