Another Day Trip Idea

It's supposed to be a fairly nice weekend
with only a few showers late today
and early tomorrow.

How about a little outing to Pt. Townsend?

Victorian houses galore.
Scenic waterfront.
An Episcopal Church with a red door.
Charming little shops and restaurants.

It's only about 90 minutes away,
give or take.

Beach Time

Sorry. . . .
I've been a bit preoccupied
since I spent a week at the beach
and I've not gone out to take new Tacoma pics.

So I'll show you some beach photos.
Cannon Beach, Oregon is about
a three or four hour drive
from Tacoma,
depending on how often
the dog needs a pit stop.

p.s. This was during a small interlude
between impressive early spring storms
with high winds, driving rain, and intermittent hail.

Not in My Lifetime

Oops. . . cut off the N in Washington.
I needed a different lens.

Can you imagine a time
when $1 a week
would dress you?

Chinese Monkey Mask

Another mask from the Broadway business district.

Sun Wu Kung (Monkey) Mask.
Chinese.

Monkey's mischievous magic caused Buddha
to seal him in the Mountain of the Five Elements.
When released, Monkey helped find
the sacred Buddhist sutras
and became a saint.

Monkey Magic.
Monkey Mischief.
Trickster born from stone.
Buddha seals you
in the mountain
til you can find
the sacred sutras.
Monkey Saint.

A Sunny Day in Paradise

Would you believe me
if I said this is Tacoma's Commencement Bay?

I didn't think so.
April Fool.
